Member Groups

ICOM is a not‑for‑profit trade association, representing and promoting the interests of equipment manufacturers involved with all aspects of Industrial and Commercial Heating. To do this we have a number of different working groups that members can take part in. This is the current list of member groups.
  • Air & Radiant Group (ARG)
This group consists of manufacturers of commercial space heating equipment such as gas and oil fired warm air and radiant heaters. The group works to address any issues within this sector of the industry, especially European policy and has a clear focus on promoting the sector. Several members of this group are involved in various projects, working towards decarbonising the industry and supporting the drive towards Hydrogen.
  • Commercial Heating Group (CHG)
This is a very diverse group and is made up from various commercial manufacturers across the membership. The group meets quarterly to review current and upcoming government policy and regulation, then discusses how these may affect businesses in the industry. The group also reviews the statistical trend both in the UK and European markets.
  • Industrial Heating Group (IHG)
This group is made up from various industrial appliance and burner manufacturers. The focus of this group is on matters impacting appliance production, certification and maintenance. There is a clear emphasis on technical activity, such as UK and CEN standards and European legislation affecting the group’s products, as well as the political landscape, which can affect product design and characteristics.
  • Commercial Heating Technical Committee (CHTC)
This group is made up from various commercial heating and hot water appliance manufacturers. The focus of this group is on matters impacting appliance production, certification and maintenance. There is a clear emphasis on technical activity, such as UK and CEN standards and European legislation affecting the group’s products, as well as the political landscape, which can affect product design and characteristics.
  • ICOM Board
The ICOM Board has participation from members across all of the different sectors within ICOM, and meets quarterly. The board oversees the formal responsibilities for the association, agrees an annual plan and budget. It reviews annually key issues, handles major one-off events, and deals with specific policy issues.
  • Water Treatment Group (WTG)
The Water Treatment Group is a joint venture between both MEHNA and ICOM members. The group was initiated to look at the common issues faced across both divisions to promote the water treatment message. A Water Treatment Quick Guide has been devised along with a re-brand (to include MEHNA) and update to the two existing ICOM Water Treatment Guides. Another aim of the group is to develop a non-domestic water treatment standard.
